Surface Clearance Device, SCD(H) suitable for Heavy Tracked Vehicle is known as the SCD(H) and clears surface laid mines and ordnance from roads, tracks and rough terrain to provide a cleared route or area for follow-on vehicles.
- Clears surface laid mines and ordnance from the full width of the vehicle
- Vee Blade optimised for clearing routes
- Angle Blade optimised for clearing areas
- Proven to operate on a wide range of terrain
- Robust and compact design
- Low maintenance with replaceable blade segments
- Can be supplied at a width to suit the host vehicle
- Battle proven and blast resistant
A SCD(H) has two operating positions; stowed for cross-country travel and deployed for clearance operations. A hydraulic lift cylinder stows and deploys the SCD(H) blade.
Hydraulic power is provided by an in-built electrohydraulic power system if the SCD(H) is fitted directly to a vehicle, or from an on-board hydraulic system that can be provided as part of a Pearson Engineering Common Interface System.
A SCD(H) is controlled from a Multipurpose Control Unit (MCU) mounted within easy reach of the vehicle driver.
For ease of transportation, the outer sections of a SCD(H) blade can be manually rotated into a transport position, narrowing the SCD(H) to less than the host vehicle width.
The SCD(H) can be rapidly attached to or detached from the vehicle and interchanged with other Special to Role equipment by the vehicle crew.
The SCD(H) can be fitted with a Full Width Mine Disrupter System (FWMDS) which is designed to tumble and detonate any tilt mines encountered, increasing overall protection and maximising operational efficiency. An optional Magnetic System Duplicator (MSD) can be fitted to help protect the equipment from the effect of magnetic influence fused mines.
A purpose built Transportation Pallet facilitates both storage and transportation and is capable of fitting into either an ISO container or onto a DROPS pallet.
The SCD(H) can be fitted and removed in 15 minutes by the vehicle crew without the aid of lifting equipment.
