Israel Military Industries developed a 350 mm calibre artillery rocket system called the MAR-350 for installation on a similar range of tracked and wheeled chassis as the widely deployed LAR 160 mm system.
It is understood that the first firing trials took place in 1986 with a further series of trials following in 1988. As far as it is known the only customer for this is Argentina who has a small number of systems installed on a TAM medium tank chassis. Available details of the system on a TAM chassis are provided in a separate entry.
It is understood that production of these rockets was completed some time ago and they are no longer marketed by Israel Military Industries.
The launcher is almost identical to that used in the Israel Military Industries LAR 160 mm rocket system fully covered in a separate entry. This is fitted with two launcher pod containers/launchers in a side-by-side arrangement. The weight of a pod of two rockets is 2,000 kg. The unguided surface-to-surface rockets can be launched one at a time or all four can be launched in 30 seconds.
The fuzed rockets are factory seated in their launch pod containers, two per container, which are loaded onto the launcher using a transport vehicle fitted with a hydraulic crane.
The unguided surface-to-surface rockets are fitted with a cluster-munition-type warhead that contains 770 CL-3022-S4 bomblets and a remotely set time fuze. These bomblets are fitted with a self-destruct mechanism.
An illustration of the 350 mm rocket and its associated launcher are given in the entry for the TAMSE VCLC series of armoured rocket launchers under Argentina.
