The new HE service round is the successor of the DM 12A2, and is primarily intended for dealing with the threat posed by long-range antitank weapons. This new HE round is designed to enable successful engagement of soft and semi-hard targets. The high-explosive warhead contains steel and heavy metal design fragments, enabling it to achieve excellent results against an extremely wide variety of targets. The full-calibre warhead is equipped with a time fuse featuring a percussion function that can be set with or without delay. This ensures maximum impact on the target following penetration of the cover. The fire control unit of the tank sets the time delay of the fuze automatically.
