The IMR-3M engineering vehicle for lining was built on the platform of the T-90 Main Battle Tank.
IMR-3 is designed for engineering support of the advancement of military columns and building the tracks. The equipment allows to independently overcome anti-minefield and lay in them passages. The vehicle is equipped with CBRN reconnaissance devices. The IMR-3M is capable fording up to 5 m deep. Weight of 50.8 tons, maximum speed of 50 km/h on the highway, range on the highway 500 km. The engine is a V-84MS four-stroke multi-fuel diesel with a power of 840 hp. As a weapon mounted 12.7-mm NSVT machine gun.
A feature of the BMR-3M is the ability to remote control from a portable console, or work autonomously after programming an action algorithm for a given route.
In 2016, a contract was signed with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation for the supply of such vehicles. The completion of deliveries under this contract was reported in November 2018. At the same time, during the Army-2018 forum, the Russian Defense Ministry signed with Uralvagonzavod a new contract for the supply of engineering vehicles in the BMR-3MA Vepr variant.
