The Desert Iris programme was initiated to meet an operational requirement identified by the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) for a cost-effective, light weight and affordable utility vehicle. The Desert Iris is an off-road 4x4 non-armoured vehicle with excellent heavy-duty specifications.

Accelerated durability testing conducted both at the Gerotek facility and in Jordan has confirmed
the excellent ride quality, handling and durability of the Desert Iris.
The Baseline Desert Iris features a Toyota 2.8 Litre diesel engine, manual gearbox and four-wheel drive.
The Desert Iris offers a large load area. The standard Desert Iris is capable of carrying up to 4 soldiers in combat order.
The Desert Iris can mount a range of weapons on its purpose-built weapons tray. This unit can be fitted and removed easily and rapidly, enabling the Desert Iris to be re-configured as required by the ground force commander.
