PARS III 6X6 is the new generation wheeled armored combat vehicle (WACV) designed and developed by FNSS Savunma Sistemleri A.Ş. PARS III 6X6 has been developed with a special emphasis on mobility, protection, payload and growth potential. The vehicles employ the latest designs and technologies with a focus on the performance and durability of modern military operational requirements. The vehicles are available in 4X4, 6X6 and 8X8 configurations. The “PARS” family of vehicles takes its name from the “Anatolian Leopard”.

The PARS III 6X6 combat weight is 25,000 kg, and is propelled by a diesel engine. The powerpack consists of a water cooled diesel engine, coupled with a fully automatic transmission which generates a maximum road speed of up to 100 km/h. PARS III 6X6 is capable of maneuvering on 60% vertical and 30% horizontal slopes, climbing 70 cm-high obstacles and crossing 175 cm-wide trenches. Thanks to the engine layout and favoured balanced design, the vehicle has almost equal axle loads.

This design approach provides the vehicle with the ability to move comfortably even over loose and soft terrain, while also providing increased road-holding at high speeds and short braking distance. The axles of the vehicle can be locked when required. The central tire inflation system allows the driver to adjust tire pressures according to different terrain conditions.

It boasts the highest wheel navigation and lowest turn radius in its class.

The fully independent hydro-pneumatic suspension system, which provides it with the highest wheel travel in its class, ensures optimum road holding over different road conditions. The PARS III 6X6, with its first and third axle steering system, has the lowest turning circle in its class. The ability to lock the third axle’s steering system at high speeds, the ABS system and the engine brake are all features that enhance driving safety.

The two-man driver’s cab at front of the vehicle offers a 180° horizontal field of vision and a high level of driving safety and comfort. Large glass periscopes, and day and thermal cameras located on the front and rear of the vehicle give the driver and commander an even wider field of vision. The door covers, personnel seats, gun holders and interior lighting elements are all designed in such a way that the comfort of the crew is ensured in the vehicle, which can accommodate up to nine personnel.

The vehicle has a range of over 700 km, and fuel tanks incorporated with special measures to protect against explosions and puncture, while a reserve fuel tank under the armor can be called upon in emergencies. Solid discs inside the tires provide a run flat ability.

The PARS III 6X6 hull can be brought to the level of protection required by the user via the modular designed armor system. The hull form, underbelly structure, base plates and specially developed mine-resistant seats are designed to protect personnel against high-level mine threats. PARS III 6x6 has the protection level of mine-resistant vehicles produced for personnel transport as well while differentiating itself through the provision of superior capabilities expected of a modern armored combat vehicle.

The PARS III 6x6 has an integrated air-conditioning system, and the main difference of this system that makes it stand out from its counterparts is that even in desert conditions, the vehicle’s internal temperature can be kept at +25 °C.

The modular connection of the vehicle subsystems to the mine-resistant hull ensures ease of maintenance and replacement. This ease of maintenance and the easy replacement of moving parts and the power transmission systems in particular make the PARS III 6X6 superior to its counterparts. The power group architecture, which can be disassembled and reassembled in less than 60 minutes, gives the user the freedom to replace the engine while on the field, providing remarkable benefit.

PARS III 6X6 can be transported by air (C130 transport aircraft), sea, train or land.
