The Kornet mobile ATGW system is designed to engage armoured targets (MBTs and IFVs), including those outfitted with reactive armour for better protection, as well as reinforced bunkers and low-flying low-speed aerial threats.
The weapon system is built to operate in the open, from a prepared position, afloat and in mountainous terrain through 3,000 meters above sea level. By design, the Kornet fighting vehicle provides for a high level of crew comfort and protection against bullets and splinters. The vehicle is equipped with night-vision aids to support night operations. In the dark, the system can hit and destroy targets out to 3,500 meters. The Kornet ATGW system is mounted on a superior cross-country armoured chassis similar to that of the renowned BMP-3 infantry figting vehicle. The Kornet weapon system can be carried by truck, rail or air over any distance, with para-drop capability being provided as appropriate.
