NAMMO INC

Nammo Inc established in September 1999, coordinates Nammo's interests in the US defence market, which include armour piercing small arms ammunition, various medium caliber ammunition programs, antitank weapon systems, rocket motors and demilitarisation of ammunition.

A demilling Joint Venture (JV) with company Parsons Brinckerhoff, PB Nammo Demil LLC, is established as a major subsidiary of Nammo Inc. Share split: Parsons Brinckerhoff: 51% Nammo Inc: 49%

Vihtavuori's defence component activities include charges for artillery and mortar systems, assembly of anti-aircraft medium caliber rounds and primers, fuses as well as detonators and pyrotechnics. Nammo Lapua's military applications are all carefully screened and fieldtested.

The plants in Leppavirta focus on cartridge cases (40-152mm), plates for heat exchanger,metal cold forming and cartridge case recalibration.Main customers are cartridge manufacturers in Finland and abroad the metal industry and defence forces. Ninety percent of the production is for export (1998).
