TNO introduced the third generation of the RPG CONSTRICTOR Mk-III network at DSEi 2009. The development was carried out together with the Dutch companies Van Halteren Metaal BV and Van Beelen Industrie en Handel BV.
Until then, this network was used to protect stationary objects, and now the scope of application has been extended to vehicles.
The first generation of the RPG CONSTRICTOR Mk-I protection network, developed by TNO, was used, among other things, to protect the Netherlands Embassy in Baghdad in 2004.
In 2006, in preparation for the upcoming military operations of the Netherlands armed forces in Uruzgan, Afghanistan, the second generation RPG CONSTRICTOR Mk-II was quickly developed. Currently, it is used by the Dutch armed forces in Afghanistan.
