The VT2 Main Battle Tank (also known as Type 96A МВТ) is recently developed by NORINCO by employing numerous latest technologies.

The VT2 main battle tank is equipped with an advanced Image Stabilized Fire Control System (ISFCS) as well as a fully stabilized 125mm gun and advanced ammunition. These ensure VT2's high first-round hit probability against both stationary and moving targets no matter the platform is static or on the move.

Its outstanding battlefield survivability is secured by its compact design, low silhouette, advanced composite armour and ERA. Also, the collective NBC protection and automatic fire and explosion detection/ suppression system provides the crew with further protection.

In addition, VT2's sufficient maneuverability attributes to a VI2 turbo-charged diesel engine, developing 800hp power and coupled to a manual shifting planetary transmission gearbox.
