Vihr/Udar

Info
Manufacturer: Main Research and Testing Center of Robotics of the MoD RF - GNIITS RT
Product type: Auxiliary Vehicles
Name: Robot, Unmanned Vehicle

The Vihr ("Whirl") is a reconnaissance-strike ground robotic complex, which was also mentioned under the name Udar.

The Udar was first shown at the "The Day of Innovations of the Russian Defense Ministry - 2015" exhibition.

This attack robot was created by the Main Research and Testing Center for Robotics (GNIITs RT) jointly with JSC "Scientific and Technical Center Impulse-2", JSC "VNII Signal", JSC "NTC ROCKAD", LLC "TsALK"and JSC "KB Kuntsevo".

The State Research Institute of the Republic of Tatarstan, which in mid-2016 tested the complex, first introduced it at the ARMY-2016 forum.

The robot is designed to strengthen units, reduce human losses and protect facilities. Armament of the complex can be used in movement for ground and air targets.

The complex consists of a mobile combat robotic platform - an attack robot based on BMP-3 IFV and four UAVs.

The robotic firepower is provided by the ABM-BSM30 Remote Controled Weapon Station, created by the Sevastopol scientific and technological center "Impulse-2". The weapon station has an optical-electronic complex for detecting ground and air targets, a 30-mm 2A72 automatic gun, a 7.62 mm PKTM machine gun and an Kornet-M ATGM. The vehicle is controlled remotely. The maximum distance to the operator is 10 km.
