ATTV (Air Transportable Tactical Vehicle), ATTV provides unmatched cross-country performance due to its racing suspension system stemming from Paris-Dakar Rally Car Engineering. In the Dutch army, it has the designation GRF 5.12 VECTOR.
The versatile central-chassis tunnel can be fitted with various bodies. High payload and unique design allow quick integration of protection kits. A .50 machine gun is operated from the top on a foldable ring-mount allowing internal transportation in medium helicopters and immediate combat readiness after landing. COTS mobility components gives logistic commonalty on all wheels, and facilitate maintenance and repairs in the field.
Defenture signed a contract with the Defence Materiel Organisation in July 2013 to manufacture and deliver 50 new ATTV light tactical vehicles for use by the Commando Corps special forces of the Royal Netherlands Army. Deliveries under the order are expected to commence in 2015.
The ATTV lightweight tactical vehicle is based on a centre tubular chassis platform, which allows for quick reconfiguration of the vehicle to meet various mission needs. It offers rugged reliability and superior agility.
The vehicle can be air transportable internally by medium helicopters such as CH-53 Sea Stallion and CH-47 Chinook.
Up to four troops and a gunner can be accomodated by the vehicle, Its lightweight, unique design allows for the installation of optional equipment, including a self-recovery winch, latest communications, jammers, additional radios and other soldier equipment.
The ATTV features a foldable ring-mount on the roof to carry a .50 calibre machine gun. Both the front and rear sections can be fitted with swing mounts to hold machine guns. The vehicle can also be equipped with one ammo box and smoke grenade launchers.
Ballistic and anti-mine kits can be integrated in to the vehicle to provide all-round protection up to STANAG 4569 level 1. It can be additionally installed with armour products developed by TenCate Advanced Armour.
The ATTV 4x4 wheeled vehicle is powered by a four-stroke, M160053-B diesel engine developed by Steyr. The engine generates a power output of 160kW and a torque of 500Nm. It is coupled to ZF 6HP280 six-speed, automatic transmission.
The power-to-weight ratios at curb weight and GVW are 35.5kW/t and 71.1kW/t respectively. The vehicle also has a 102l / 130l fuel tank and can carry an additional fuel jerrycan of 140l.
A power-assisted steering system is installed in to the vehicle, which can be optionally provided with a second axle steering to reduce the turning circle diameter. It has 40% limited-slip differentials at the front and rear.
The 275/65/18 tyres provide increased mobility in all terrain conditions.
The vehicle also consists of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) two-stage transfer case, A-arms suspension, prop-shaft 2x axles, and four Rennsport brake discs with a diameter of 340mm each.
