Borne out of the fires of combat in Iraq and Afghanistan and the lessons learnt by those doing the fighting, the Maximus Twin Mount is the ideal counter to fleeting targets and short, sharp engagements.

Developed to provide firepower overmatch for light, highly mobile forces deployed on open-topped patrol and response vehicles with one-man weapon stations, the Maximus Twin Mount is unmatched in delivering high volumes of accurate fire during contacts where the engagement window is brief and the requirement for putting maximum firepower downrange urgent. Such scenarios include counter ambush, convoy escort, assault and overwatch missions.

The twin weapon arrangement on a single mount also enables one gunner to bring both weapons to bear and sustain uninterrupted fire on a target for extended periods, a task normally requiring 4-6 personnel. This makes the Maximus Twin Mount a true force multiplier.

The simplicity of the Maximus Twin Mount facilitates ease of installation onto the upper roll cage structure common to most soft-skinned tactical vehicles.

At around 200kg, the Maximus Twin Mount is also light enough to have minimal impact on vehicle centre-of-gravity and payload, yet provides twice the weight of fire of current weapon mounts.

Utilising a variation of Platt's combat proven 40-50 Softmount, the Maximus Twin Mount is compatible with existing Platt adapters to provide a wide choice of weapon fits. These include the M2HB 12.7mm heavy machine gun, Mk 19 and H&K GMG 40mm automatic grenade launchers, MAG-58/M240 7.62mm general purpose machine gun and the Minimi 5.56mm light machine gun.
