The SPM-3 is a Russian mine resistant ambush protected vehicle, developed specially for internal security forces. This MRAP vehicle will be evaluated by the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for possible acceptance to service in 2010.

The SPM-3 provides all-round protection against 7.62-mm armor-piercing rounds. Vehicle has a V-shaped hull and can withstand 6 kg mine blast under any wheel. Vehicle is also fitted with NBC protection and automatic fire suppression systems.

The SPM-3 MRAP can be armed with remotely controlled 12.7-mm or 14.5-mm machine gun.

This mine resistant ambush protected vehicle has a crew of two and can carry 8 troops.

The SPM-3 uses a number of proven automotive components, such as suspension and drive train of the BTR-90 APC, transmission and engine from the Ural-4320. The SPM-3 is powered by a YaMZ-7601 diesel engine.
