Utilisation
STAREM, an artillery and mortar tactical system is developed and produced by Naval & Ground Systems France.
This system intends to automate the “fire” chain, from the observer designating the target down to the gun battery, through the fire control support and co-ordination levels.
STAREM, selected as for instance by the French and the Belgian army, is a major asset for operational modules functioning within a projected force deployment. It is particularly well adapted to crisis management scenarios and complex fire support missions.
STAREM comprises 3 sub-assemblies:
Commander station tactical computer CS2002
Gun loader panel
Gun layer panel.
Characteristics
STAREM is an evolutionary system featuring maximum software flexibility. It is open to extension requirements taking into account:
New delivery vehicles, mortars, rocket launchers or field guns
New munitions
New employment doctrine algorithms
Man Machine interfaces adapted to the user's procedures and language
The evolution of computer technology.
Performances
The main functions are:
Tactical situation (cartography)
