The Canadian Department of National Defence has awarded a $10.9 million CAD modification to a previously awarded contract for LAV III vehicles to General Dynamics Land Systems - Canada. General Dynamics Land Systems, the Canadian company's parent corporation, is a business unit of General Dynamics. Under this contract modification, General Dynamics Land Systems - Canada will manufacture 39 LAV III Engineer vehicles equipped with a remote weapons station, dozer blade, hydraulic tool system and provision for a safe lane marking system. This vehicle will enable field engineers to provide engineering and maintenance services for the LAV III fleet. Tasks will include mobility and counter-mobility maintenance through earthmoving activities and the building of field defences. Deliveries will take place between October 2006 and July 2007. |
