Arlington, VA, July 11, 2005 -- CACI International Inc announced today that it has been awarded a task order of an estimated $11 million value if all options are exercised to continue work on the Defense Personnel Records Image Retrieval System (DPRIS) initiative for the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of the Undersecretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness. The five-year task order was competitively awarded by the General Services Administration (GSA) Federal Systems Integration and Management Center (FEDSIM) under the Millennia Lite Functional Area 4 Information Technology Support Services contract and requires CACI to perform web-based integration and support services for the DoD. With this award, CACI expands its secure electronic records capabilities within its core systems integration business. DPRIS is a secure web portal through which the Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal agencies gain access to official military personnel records in digital image format. Copies of source documents from millions of records for current active, guard, and reserve service personnel, as well as recently retired, separated, or discharged veterans can be requested by authorized agency users. The modular DPRIS design facilitates component reuse with minor configuration changes to accommodate additional interfaces as other agency systems are incorporated into the Net Centric DPRIS enterprise environment. The DPRIS application does not persistently store records which remain under control of the respective repositories operated by the military services and the National Archives and Records Administration. CACI will continue to provide maintenance and support for the legacy DPRIS production software, integrate interfaces with other DoD military personnel records systems, complete the development and implementation of a secure DPRIS Web site for authorized agency use, and expand the system to support automated routing of requests for information or documents from older microfiche and paper records as well as for data from military personnel record databases. The upgraded Military Personnel Records - Net Centric enterprise portal will automate the secure routing of government agency requests and return of retrieved images, text, and data. As the incumbent contractor, CACI brings senior military personnel records experts and a highly qualified technical development and implementation team to DPRIS. The SEI CMM Level 3 compliant team employs proven development processes and extraordinary communications and coordination skills to provide the ultimate in product development and performance, completed on time and within budget. "Military personnel, both active duty and retired, deserve America's support and respect. Our technology allows government agencies supporting our service personnel and veterans to more quickly and consistently adjudicate requests for the entitlements and benefits that they have earned," said CACI Chairman, President, and CEO Dr. J.P. (Jack) London. "We're proud to serve in this vital area." |
