Myolnir T30 is a Remote-Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS).
For the first time, the Myolnir T30 was demonstrated at ExpoDefensa 2017, mounted on the Pegaso 4x4 APC, which is in service with the Colombian army (version of the M1117 lihgt armored vehicle from Textron US company). There, at the exhibition, it was announced that a contract had been signed with the Colombian army to supply these weapon stations.
The armament of Myolnir T30 includes a 30-mm automatic gun and a coaxial machine gun of 7.62 mm caliber. On the left side of the turret will also be installed two launchers for the Spike anti-tank guided missile, manufactured by the Israeli company Rafael.
The 30-mm gun that will be used in the T30 tower is the Mk44 Bushmaster, designed and manufactured by the US company Orbital ATK. The MK44 Bushmaster can fire with all Rarden & KCB ammunition, 30 mm x 173 mm and 30 mm x 170 mm.
The gun is derived from the 25-mm M242 Bushmaster, it uses up to 70% of the same elements, with an increase firepower by 50% and a 20% increase in caliber. The barrel of the gun is chrome plated to increase the service life.
The Myolnir T30 RCWS from THOR will also be equipped with electronic systems from the Israeli company CONTROP, which include a gyrostabilizer, an EO/IR camera and a gyrostabilized scanning and surveillance system.
To enhance the self-defense of the vehicle, the turret will also be equipped with a compact semi-spherical radar RADA capable of detecting, tracking and classifying all types of threats that can be swept away by vehicle fire, such as RPGs, ATGMs and tank rounds. When three or four radars are linked together, they provide coverage of the hemisphere covering the vehicle.
The Myolnir T30 will have a total weight of 900 kg, traverce 360° and elevation from + 60° to -15°.
